I love to joke around with everyone! I feel that it is important to have fun in life. Although I may seem serious most times.
I have been teaching for 7 years and still love it. I have worked with people with disabilities for 14 years. I was a social worker before teaching and a stay at home mom. Oh, I was also a church secretary for a short time if you can believe it. I have worked in group homes for people with severe/profound mental retardation, community alternatives program for disabled adults and children, and Adult Services at Duplin County Department of Social Services. I have a range of experience. I love teaching the most of all the work I have done, well maybe except stay at home mom. The students amaze me everyday. It thrills me to see them make progress.
I live with my husband and 2 daughters. The students know all about Steve, Caroline and Rebecca. We have 3 cats and other animals that come and go because we kill fish. They are wonderful. I love watching the girls grow and change.
I have wonderful students. I think I have the best students in the country! I am interested in them growing not just academically but in every way. I want them to be confident, independent and happy. I enjoy getting to know them and bringing out their personalities.
