RHS/NHS Volunteer Hour Guidelines
In order to address the Service and Leadership cornerstones of the National Honor Society, every member MUST complete 20 volunteers hours during each school year to maintain a membership in good standing. Members are encouraged to connect with their school and community by committing themselves to helping wherever an opportunity presents itself. All volunteer hours will be due on or before the April 1st of each year.
Hours completed as part of membership in another club, team or school sponsored activities (i.e. Chorus, JROTC, PGC, FFA, etc) DO NOT count. These are considered requirements of being a member of that association.
Hours completed for members of your immediate family members (i.e. yard work, babysitting, house cleaning, etc) DO NOT count. These are considered responsibilities of being a family member.
If you have any questions as to whether your hours count speak with Mrs. McLamb or Ms. Ira before or after school or at a National Honor Society meeting prior before completion.
If you need volunteer ideas...go to the meetings, look on the website or read the minutes.
I have hereby read the above guidelines and fully understand requirements and limitations of the volunteer hour responsibilities for membership in the Rosewood High School chapter of the National Honor Society.
